  • REFLECTION FOR THE FOURTH WEEK OF ADVENT: WORKS OF MERCY

Mary responded, "Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed. For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me. He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him. His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones. He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands. He has helped his servant Israel and remembered to be merciful. For he made this promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and his

  • REFLECTION FOR THE SECOND WEEK OF ADVENT: WAIT

Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door! Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. (James

(Prayer for protection from the coronavirus)

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.

We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.  At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need.  We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.  Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us:  He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.  We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.  Do not despise our pleas- we who are put to the test- and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

Re:                 Scam Alert

Please be advised that we are once again receiving calls from priests indicating that parishioners are receiving requests, purportedly from the pastor, for iTunes gift cards, either by text or email.
In addition, there are reports of a variety of COVID-19 scams cropping up, including one where people call or visit homes trying to sell "COVID-19 testing kits."
Please use the appropriate channels to advise your parishioners to exercise caution when checking email messages, taking phone calls or responding to those at the door. Think before you click or open attachments, and always verify suspect messages by phoning the sender on a known phone number (not the phone number in the suspect message).

Thanks for your continued cooperation.
